The 3rd international OFFSHORE WORLD CHALLENGE – Poreč 2017 is just around the corner
For the third year running Poreč will be hosting the international big game fishing qualifying tournament– OFFSHORE WORLD CHALLENGE – Poreč 2017 from the 13th to the 16th of September. Over the past two years, the OWC Big Game Fishing Tournament in Poreč has grown into the biggest competition of its kind in Croatia and the wider region, as evidenced by the growing interest displayed by the participants as well as the residents of Poreč and its visitors, who don’t want to miss this sporting spectacle.
Approximately 70 fishing boats and 300 crew members from Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Norway, Russia and other European countries have already confirmed their participation in the qualifying tournament for the World Championship, which be held in April of 2018 in Quepos, Costa Rica. By drawing an increasing number of big game fishing enthusiasts every year, this massive sporting event has put Poreč on the map as one of the best Big Game Fishing destinations in the world.
This year, the Sport Fishing Club Big Game 4tuna, which organizes the tournament, has once again managed to attract the world’s best big game fishermen, while the Tunalicious Street Food Festival, during which all visitors will be able to enjoy tuna specialities and an abundant gastronomic offer at the Poreč waterfront on 14th and 15th September, will also add to the appeal of the event.
Applications are open until the 1st of September, and the partners of this event include the Sport Fishing Club Big Game 4 Tuna, MPG, Valamar Riviera, the Croatian National Tourist Board, the City of Poreč, the Poreč Tourist Board, Port Authority Poreč and numerous other sponsors.
